Welcome to Aikido: 'The Way of Harmony' suitable for all ages and abilities. Aikido uses body positioning and timing to break an 'attacker's posture - it's not reliant on strength. Train with others at your own pace whilst having FUN and connecting to what it is that makes us human. We're not here to break one another - only to engender a sense of respect to others.
Practising Aikido makes the world a better place! It's non competitive: polishing your individual spirit is where we're at.

Hello,
I'm Anita and I've been practising Aikido for over ten years in many places including Japan.
I don't want to fight people, I want to understand and connect with them from place of safety.
I love Aikido because it's a FUN, gentle yet effective way to create respect between individuals. It's a great way to socialise and keep fit whilst reaching a level of understanding with people from all walks of life.
I'm now living my dream of creating and running my own dojo (place of training) and I hope you'll join me on the mat to experience how these seemingly simple movements create harmony from friction.

CHILD PROTECTION
We are affiliated to the British Aikido Board (UK Governing body) through our membership of the Fudoshin Aikido Association and adopt the BAB child protection and safeguarding polices. Please visit the BAB web page for full details if required.
Click on the link below to download a copy of the current safeguarding policy.
Safeguarding children and young people requires everyone to be committed to the highest possible standards of openness, integrity and accountability. TakaHiro Aikido Club supports an environment where staff and volunteers, members and their parents/carers and the public are encouraged to raise safeguarding and child protection concerns. Anyone who reports a legitimate concern to the organisation will be supported and all concerns will be taken seriously.
It is acknowledged that individuals are often very reluctant to report concerns through fear of negative reprisal. TakaHiro Aikido Club will take action against anyone who has harassed or victimised a whistle blower. The identity of individuals who wish to remain anonymous will not be disclosed without first taking time to explain the circumstances in which disclosure may be desirable.
In the first instance, poor practice concerns that relate to the club should be referred to the Club DojoCho/ Coach, Anita Bromley except where:
The whistle blower believes there would be a risk of victimisation, either to the whistle blower or child/children, if the matter was raised internally within the club;
or
The whistle blower has already raised the matter internally and the matter was covered up or no action was taken and the situation remains unchanged.
In this case a referral should be made to the Head of Safeguarding at the British Aikido Board, Geoff Aisbitt email: cslo@bab.org.uk or telephone 01271 343952
